What happens when the hackers start turning on each other? Oh my, we are just so delighted with this turn of events.
Anonymous, “Hackers for good” have launched cyber war on Russia and have disabled several websites. And if that is not enough fun, while the Russian ground invasion played out on television screens around the world, a cyber conflict occurred in parallel. By the end of last week, Conti, a large cybercriminal group, aligned itself with Russia in a move that changed the social behavior of hackers and had folks picking sides. Previously hackers were basically apolitical (hey we all have our flags to support, let’s just hack together) but after Conti picked sides in the battle everyone else did too. What resulted from that was hackers turning on hackers. (Susan rubs hands with glee) The attackers attacked the attacker and soon hacker data was flying everywhere! haha After Conti aligned themselves with Russia, they themselves were hacked and their Bitcoin wallets (crypto currancy) were published on the dark web. How’s that feel? Can we all laugh again now?
Russia’s state owned news agency TASS website was hacked on Monday:
Dear citizens. We urge you to stop this madness, do not send your sons and husbands to certain death. Putin makes us lie and puts us in danger. We were isolated from the whole world, they stopped buying oil and gas. In a few years we will live like in North Korea. What is it for us? To put Putin in the textbooks? This is not our war, let’s stop it!
This message will be deleted, and some of us will be fired or even jailed. But we can’t take it anymore.
Indifferent journalists of Russia.
